The long listen

The mmf-7.3 se keeps the critical record-playing parts separate from its motor and wiring, using dual-plinth damping for a clean, stable and detailed listen.

From the product description

The details that matter.

A short guide to the design and features described by Music Hall.

01

Dual-plinth construction

The platter, main bearing, tonearm and cartridge sit on the top platform. Motor, speed controls and wiring occupy a separate, decoupled platform, with Sorbothane hemispheres between them.

02

Full carbon-fibre tonearm

The one-piece tonearm offers fully adjustable VTA, azimuth and damped arm lift, with a decoupled counterweight level with the stylus tip.

03

Stable manual drive

The isolated DC motor provides 33 and 45 rpm speed control and sits on its own resonance-damping puck.

04

Ready for refinement

The non-resonant acrylic platter uses a screw-on record clamp and felt mat. An optional Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge is supplied properly aligned and mounted when selected.
